Since then with the technological development, aviation has become a means of simple, desirable and fast transport covering the world, and has turned the airports into our international doors, therefore they speak of us, a greater reason that they are a luxury.

In Cartago, late at night a selection of car enthusiasts gathered to make noise and show off their paint jobs and custom car accessories. In an event organized by the Costa Rican Red Cross exhibitors proudly displayed their gullwing doors, custom art, neon lighting, and hydraulic modifications. The sound of booming stereos, food stands, and models excited the local boy racers. |

Close to the center of downtown San Jose a group of unusual animals live in a private oasis. Their home is a small, peaceful zoo. This park features a variety of Asian, African, and Costa Rican animals and plants. It features a hands-on display for children and is like an urban rain forest, a maze of small paths twisting around the animal enclosures. You will find the zoo at Avenida 11, Calle 7 and entry is 1500 colones ($3). |

There are few dishes more typically Costa Rican than 'arroz con pollo' (chicken with rice). This is a cheap, nutritious, and tasty meal available on the menus of the vast majority of restaurants in Costa Rica. Ingredients include rice, mixed vegetables and herbs, chicken and saffron.
